The Diocese of New Westminster stretches from Powell River to the northwest all the way to Hope in the east. There are currently 62 parishes and 4 worshipping communities all part of the Anglican Church of Canada and the World Wide Anglican Communion.

The Bible does not offer this detail but in my mind’s eye, the two women who approached the tomb of Jesus on that first Easter Day had candles in their hands.  This seems important to me in how I picture the scene.  

For decades the diocesan publications have been included as inserts in the national publication, The Anglican Journal. This is done for a variety of reasons but primarily to centralize the process and to receive the best possible mailing price from Canada Post. This continues today.

Seventeen years ago, the Sunday School at the Church of the Holy Trinity, White Rock began preparations to create and paint a labyrinth representing the church year. 

There is always a lot going on at a parish where the Reverend Miranda Sutherland is priest-in-charge. And even on this Sunday, March 5, Lent II, her penultimate Sunday as vicar of the parish, a day when she was welcoming Bishop John Stephens on the first visit of his episcopacy to his venerable parish in Surrey’s northerly Port Kells district, the Reverend Sutherland had lots planned.

If you cast your memory back to March of 2020, when most of the world was in lockdown, can you remember what many people were doing with their spare time?  Well, a question came to mind, where are all these people going to put their excess goods, treasures, books, pictures, crafts, etc.?

The Board of the diocesan Anglican Church Women are thankful to the many people who've worked diligently over the years to help the diocesan ACW thrive in God's service. With the smart initiatives of those before us, and the sale of the W.A. Memorial House in Vancouver, we have the means to flourish for generations to come. Sadly, we've hit a snag. Our currently leased warehouse in Burnaby will have a significant increase in rent at the end of the lease on May 31.

Our country now has a Canada-wide program of dental care for low and middle income residents who do not have Dental Insurance coverage. It will be rolled out in coming months.

We will start with a welcome and ice breaker games. Drinks will be available too as you come in. We will then learn a little bit about Holy Week and Easter. We are then planning to get creative and make some Holy anointing oil together which will include infusing local herbs, branches and flowers in oil.
