Come and join us for a reflective and fun evening where we keep watch, like the disciples in the garden of Gethsemane. This event is aimed at youth age 13 – 25. At this youth event, we will take part in the Maundy Thursday service. This consists of foot washing and partaking in the Eucharist as well as the ritual of stripping the altar to symbolize everything Jesus lost on Maundy thursday.

This is a great opportunity to experience some of our Anglican Tradition together, before we head down to the basement for icebreaker games and snacks. We will then worship together and walk the stations of the cross before we go into prayer stations which range anything from playing with Godly play items, to making art, mandalas and small acts of creativity or self care to put us in a place of mindfulness and reflection on what Easter is all about.

We will then play a night game in the cathedral, a rare opportunity for youth to explore and have fun in our beautiful cathedral. Following this we will have some bed time stories and set up our sleeping items (please bring sleeping bags, pillows, air mattresses etc with you! Along with Appropriate sleeping attire). In the morning a hot breakfast will be provided, to all youth. Youth are then welcome to go home, or to their own churches or partake in the Cathedral Good friday family worship service.

You may attend all or part of the event, we suggest one of these options:
