The Young Wolves Lodge is a 5 bed residential alcohol and drug recovery program for young Aboriginal women ages 17 to 24 years old. Many of these young women are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Also many of these sisters have suffered trauma from violence and abuse in their lives. Three of the five beds are for young women trying to change their lives so they regain custody of their children from the Ministry of Children and Family Development services or family members who have been watching their children while they piece their lives back together. The Young Wolves Lodge started in April 2003 and has had a 75% success rate and was awarded the Eva Initiative Award from CIBC for innovation and successful partnership in 2008.

The Young Wolves Lodge Transition Worker is a trusted mentor for each young woman through her first year of clean and sober living. She helps her maintain her recovery long-term, to find safe housing and support services, become part of healthy relationships and activities in her culture and community; and regain custody of her children (if applicable).
