On Sunday, October 30, Bishop Kathy Martin, BC Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada visited Christ Church Cathedral to preside at the 10:30 Eucharist for Reformation Sunday. The Lutheran rite included a sermon from the Reverend Matthew Senf, a Lutheran Pastor who is an associate priest at the diocesan cathedral.

The Rev. Kathleen (Kathy) Martin was ordained as Bishop of the BC Synod on the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, 2022. Before her election and ordination Bishop Martin was Assistant to the Bishop for Mission Renewal and Congregational Support. During that time, she travelled the province meeting with congregations and regional groups. Prior to that she served in two congregations:  Parish Pastor of King of Life Lutheran Church in Coquitlam and Associate Pastor of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Surrey.

Many thanks to Jane Dittrich for sending in these photos.
