The Truth & Reconciliation Commission's Walk for Reconciliation will be held on Sunday, September 22nd. The Diocese of New Westminster contingent (Diocese, Parishes, etc) will gather in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery between 9:00--9:30 am. Bring your Parish banners, clergy bring your collars/cassocks, and other identifying traits.

Wednesday Sept. 18-Sept 21
Truth and Reconciliation Commission National Event, Hastings Park (PNE Grounds)
8:30 am-5pm Wednesday and Saturday
8:30 am-9:30 pm Thursday and Friday
Come, Listen and Learn

Sunday Sept. 22
8:00 Eucharist at Christ Church Cathedral with National Church representatives
8:30 Universal Gospel Choir begins singing where the walk begins at Queen Elizabeth Theatre (a representative group of Anglican walkers will be present)
9:00 Ceremonial Opening and Speeches at Queen Elizabeth Theatre
10:00 Walk for Reconciliation Begins (4k and 2k routes)
(walk starts at Georgia and Hamilton by the Main Library)
11:00 First Walkers arrive at Creekside Park (beside Science World)
12:00 Formal Activities finish, open celebration in the park.

There is no event at BC Place Stadium-that content has been incorporated into the walk itself and the opening and closing ceremonies.

• Some Anglicans are worshipping at the Cathedral at 8 and walking East on Georgia together to join the walk when the service ends.
• Some are meeting at the Vancouver Art Gallery on Georgia between 9-9:30 am and will walk together up Georgia carrying Parish banners to be present for the start of the walk.
• Some will gather at the start point between the Main Library and the Queen Elizabeth Theatre at 8:30 am.
• Communicate with members of your Parish or group about where you will meet and when and know that whether you find them or not among the crowds that you are there among friends.

Public transit (especially Sky Train) is recommended.
• The start of the walk is near Chinatown/Stadium stop.
• The end of the walk and the Canoe Gathering are by the Science World station and there will be greeters there.
If you have limited mobility and are not able to walk either the 2 or 4 km route you can attend the Walk for Reconciliation opening ceremonies from 8:30-10 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and the closing ceremonies from 11-12 by Science World.

These are important and historic events involving tens of thousands of people. All events are free and open to the public and you are both encouraged and invited to attend. Please know that all times are approximate and even if timing and schedules feel confusing, your presence and your commitment to reconciliation are important and valued.
