On the evening of Monday, May 10th, 2010 the sun beamed through the stained glass windows of Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church as it set in the west, creating the perfect environment for the Vancouver School of Theology 2010 Convocation ceremony.
22 degrees, 2 honorary degrees, 9 diplomas were distributed. Mary Ann Amor, postulant of the Diocese of New Westminster and parishioner at St. John Squamish was the recipient of the Entering Year Award.
Barbara Brown Taylor (image on left) gave an inspiring address and the music according to VST Recruitment Associate, Julie Lees was “totally uplifting.”
The image at the bottom of the page shows 2 of the 22 degree recipients. On the left is Glen Mitchell, Director of Planned Giving for the Diocese of New Westminster who received a “Master of Arts in Theological Studies” and on the right is St. Michael, Vancouver Warden and Holy Cross, Vancouver Student Intern Greg Tatchell who received a “Masters of Divinity” degree.
