Join us in the sanctuary of Christ Church Cathedral for a special concert showcasing the
remarkable journey of one of British Columbia's emerging young opera singers. At just 19,
North Vancouver soprano Keava McCormack has already shared the stage with
world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli, made her professional opera debut with Vancouver
Opera, and emerged as one of the University of Toronto’s promising young vocalists. Her first
year at the University of Toronto exceeded expectations. She was selected to perform newly
commissioned works by acclaimed composer Norbert Palej, and she was chosen from 144
undergraduate, master’s and doctoral vocal students to perform the featured solo in the finale of
the university’s choral concert under internationally respected conductor Dr. Brandon A. Boyd.
McCormack will present Whispers of a Dream on Friday, August 28th, at 7:30 p.m. at the
Cathedral. The evening will feature opera arias, musical favourites and contemporary classics,
accompanied by collaborative pianist and the Cathedral's Director of Music, Dr. Neil Cockburn.
Admission is by donation, with proceeds supporting McCormack’s continued studies in the
University of Toronto’s Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance program.
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear Keava at home in Vancouver before she returns to Toronto
to continue her musical journey.

Admission by donation at the door.
