After this three day event Bishop Michael returned to Vancouver briefly and then went to Calgary to lead a workshop at Christ Church Calgary on the Parables of Jesus on February 5th. On February 6th he was the guest preacher for the Sunday liturgies at Christ Church.

On Tuesday, February 14th, Bishop Michael leaves for East Africa to participate in the Western and African Bishop's conference in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Bishop Michael partnered with Bishop James Tengatenga of Southern Malawi are scheduled to make a presentation at the conference.
Last year the conference was held in London, England and consisted of 5 Canadian bishops and 5 African bishops (Click the link to access the April 2010 story about this event). This year the 5 Canadian bishops will be joined by bishops from Australia, the Church of England and the Episcopal Church. The number of African bishops in attendance has been increased to equal the number of bishops visiting from outside of Africa.
Prior to the conference Bishop Michael has accepted the invitation of the Bishop of Bujumbura in the nation of Burundi to visit his diocese.
