The Hastings North Community Partners Group is rolling out the green carpet to welcome you to the premiere of a new community movie series, “Meaningful Movies”. On Saturday, September 25, the Community Partners will present a free screening of the film Home at St David’s church, beginning at 7pm. This film, released in 2009, explores the wealth and diversity of our planet while examining the major social and environmental issues facing our common home. The film will be followed by a facilitated discussion.

This free community event is open to all. Please bring your favorite blanket or pillow to sit on while viewing this 93-minute film. You are also invited to “live the message” of this environmentally-themed film by bringing your own coffee mug, water bottle and plate in order to enjoy the snacks and refreshments that will be available at nominal cost.

“Meaningful Movies” is a community-building initiative offering residents of Hastings North an opportunity to meet their neighbours in a relaxed setting while viewing thought-provoking films on matters of topical interest and concern. Films will be shown once a month and each showing will include an opportunity for discussion and reflection.

St. David’s is located at 2475 Franklin Street (at Kamloops), and is partially wheelchair-accessible (call Michael Batten, 604.253.8524, for more information).
