May 28th, 4pm, with a reception to follow

The gift of the Spirit is celebrated at St Mary’s Kerrisdale on Sunday, May 28th at 4pm, with a Festal Evensong service at which we are joined by choir members from other parishes. We mark the retirement of Director of Music Brigid Coult with music from the great Anglican choral tradition – the double-choir Evening Service in F major by Charles Wood – known as “Coll Reg.” because it was written for the choir of King’s College Cambridge – and the glorious Evening Hymn (Te Lucis Ante Terminum) by Balfour Gardiner.

Attention folks around the diocese:

St. Mary’s Choir welcomes guest singers to join us; please contact BrigidCoult@stmaryskerrisdale.ca by Tuesday, May 23 if you would like to take part. Music will be sent to you in advance; you are welcome to an optional rehearsal on Thursday, May 25th, and the choir call on Sunday, May 28th, will be at 2pm.--

Guest Preacher: The Reverend David Taylor

Rev. David Taylor is the rector of the Parish of St. Dunstan and Director of the Centre for Spiritual Renewal. He serves on the Ecumenical/Multi-faith Unit Group of the Diocese and is a former clergyperson at the Parish of St. Mary. He is thrilled to be at a celebration of the ministry of Brigid Coult.
